Welcome to our dream!
Today is the first post and just one more step in the belief that we are actually going to do this. Our plan (for the last 10 years) has been to go sailing (5 year plan) with no intended direction, time line, or deadline.

We are creating a blog, mostly for family and friends, maybe for inspiration for those just forming a dream, to create and maintain that crucial connection which we will not be able to live without. We are also creating a Smartypig account and will put that out on FB, Twitter, etc. for all those that would like to contribute to our dream.
Well, to get started. Mark was laid off from the railroad just the time our renter in Billings gave notice. So off to Billings he has been and working like the dickens! New roof, wiring, windows, gutters, portico (awesome job, he designed himself!), foundation work and painting inside and out. The huge trees in the yard are coming down this weekend to provide us worry free time on the ocean. We will not be getting a call that a tree has demolished something! HUGE expense, but worth the peace of mind. The yard is coming along and a new shed for our storage unit and new partial fence and 115 Terry is ready for some lucky soul to live in! Then on to the house in Livingston. Get that sold and then the fun starts! We learned so much at the boat show in Miami, we have made contacts with brokers, talked with boat owners and have decided that even if we had the money for a larger boat, we would still purchase a smaller catamaran. When we started our dream we were thinking of a 42 foot cat and now are seriously looking at a Gemini 34. Plenty of room, cheaper to sail, and maintain. We will seriously be talking with and traveling to some boats once the house in Livingston has sold! ANYONE NEED A GREAT HOUSE????? Of course the year of the boat will directly depend on the housing market! It is very low right now, but we can wait no longer, so whatever we can do, that will be what we get. Which is the reason for Smartypig! :)
The question we get most is: "Where are you going?"
The answer we most give is: "Anywhere we want!".
We have our eyes on some goals - like crossing the Panama Canal, sailing in the Baha Ha Ha, spending a hurricane season in the Rio Dulce in Nicaragua, crossing the Tropic of Cancer, Equator, when legal - sailing into Havana Harbor and maybe even crossing the big pond! So we invite you to come with us on this adventure of a lifetime.
