Leaving Montana
So, after 13 looooong years of planning we are leaving Montana. We have sold everything we own, all of our worldly goods fit into a 4 x 8 U-haul trailer. The bus was even sold, had the old girl since 1979! I can't say it has been an easy road, but can see the horizon and looking forward to our purchase. We have found we cannot buy a boat while here, so we will go to the boat! We have a minivan, newly purchased, that will haul our boat equipment with us. It is cold here, the clocks will change soon, so it will be dark and cold here. Something that does not appeal to us.

SOLD!!!!!!
OMG! We did it, the house is sold! Now we need to get through the inspection and appraisal and we should close around middle of June. Busy sorting, throwing, and saving all of our "stuff". Everything we own will fit into a 5 x 10 storage unit by the time we are out of the house!

House is for sale under Pure West, Christies International. We have 2 showings today, we have had an offer, but it was low ball. When the yard is green, people will fight to buy it! Went and got my ASA 101, 104, 108, 114 in San Diego. Sailed a 46 foot Hunter and really do love to sail the bigger boats. Mark has not sailed one so when the house sells we will go a boat huntin'! And do some test sails. At times we want a newer, big boat, and then at times we want a smaller, older boat so we can have more of a sailing kitty. At times I want a catamaran and times a monohull. This is an odd game of playing, hope we figure it out! We have lost our dog of almost 15 years, we miss him so much and are glad he didn't have to leave his home. We are "childless" for the first time in 29 years! We are looking forward for the house to sell, but think about the actually selling and have total fear. That is why these blogs are so important to people on the same journey. All we need to do is to follow the blogs we do and realize that what we are doing is what we really want to do. Change is sometimes hard! Hopefully we will have a buyer today!

The House is for Sale!!
Just finished the website for the house yesterday. Whew! That done, have put it out there and might get lucky and get a bite! Hope to sell it soon! Next month will be at the Sailing School for ASA accreditation's. Going to Santa Cruz, CA with my best friend Robin. She is taking the lessons with me and we are doing private lessons and staying on the boat! Should be fun, LOVE Santa Cruz! And LOVE that I will have my friend with me. The accreditation's will of course help with insurance for the boat. Our house is just the way we have always wanted it. Now someone else will get the enjoyment out of our hard work. Hope it is reciprocal and we can enjoy someones hard work, we would appreciate it as I am sure whoever buys the house will appreciate it. So, the blogs should be getting closer together. I really want to get how we are feeling down so when we are old we may look at this and remember. Remember our discussions about procrastinating because we are so nervous about selling all of our possession's, leaving our families and friends and setting out to the unknown. We of course don't think we are but I know there is an unconscious digging in of heels. We are comfortable, we have everything we want. There is just that little something missing................adventure. We have never taken the easy way and have challenged our lives and circumstances at almost every turn, and we always come out richer for the change. That! is what we are banking on. Stay tuned!

And one thing leads to another! Mark was called back to work, I quit my job in January to concentrate on getting the house empty enough to sell. We worked on the yard and have that spruced up. Have met with our financial peeps and Mark needs to work until September 2012 to quailify for a retirement and will work until December for the profit sharing check :( and :). The house is going to be put on the market this month, and with any kind of luck we will be free to start looking for a boat! We attended the Oakland Boat Show and again overloaded with information. At some point I think there is to much information and one must just jump in the water! I want to be wet! Will be posting to let you know how we are progressing. Hopefully the blogs will be closer together and more action to report.

How time does fly!
Here it is JUNE 2011~ School was put off as you can see as the house is still not done, but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It should be on the market the end of June. We have some trim work, fill in nail holes, touch up paint and install the livingroom flooring. Will post pictures of the house later, but - oh my! Our friends would say "it is going to be so nice you won't want to leave". And it is..................so very, very nice, and what a drag to put all of that work into and leave. But the calling of the sea is much more than the pull of the house. We shouldn't have a hard time selling it, the yard is in bloom, the house is awesome, and the weather has EVERYTHING so green. Will try and post more frequently, wish us luck!

Beginning of 2011
Anniversary is in 1 day! Snow, cold and winter in Montana and dreaming of the heat, sun and perpetual summer of the tropics! The house still consumes us.........We will be sheet rocking the ceilings and walls this next week. The new windows will be here next week also. The steps of completing the house seem to take so long, but when they start falling, it will be an avalanche! Mark and I have decided to put his Captain School off until March, so maybe I can go with him while he is in school. It would not be a great idea to leave me here, IN THE DEAD OF WINTER, while he went to school in Florida! So, we will do all of this together instead of "splitting up". We do our best when we are together.
We received great Christmas presents.........collapsable bowls, funnels, roasters, travel towels, espresso maker (non-electric!), water prof bags, passport keepers, etc....We can hardly wait to put them all to use and outfit our new galley.
We have been looking very carefully at Endeavors. We like the layout of the boat, it is sturdy and sea worthy. More reviews, more studying..............The right boat will appear for us when th time is right and grateful we will be. Looking forward to a new year that will blow our minds! Hope yours will do the same for you.
